Cuba has dispatched another medical team to help the Honduran health system deal with the coronavirus outbreak.There have been hundreds of confirmed cases and the number continues to increase, presenting a challenge for the country's struggling hospitals.

Honduras lacks medicine, qualified doctors, nurses and the infrastructure to deal with the rise in COVID-19 cases, prompting an appeal for outside help.Cuba has answered, sending medical teams to assist.

According to latest figures by Johns Hopkins University, Honduras has 472 confirmed coronavirus cases, and 46 deaths.For most people, the new coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough, that clear up in two to three weeks.

For some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness, including pneumonia, and could lead to death.
