Paris police authorities released drone footage showing empty touristic areas in the French capital as France enters its 23rd day of lockdown on Wednesday due to the new coronavirus outbreak.

Parisians have been told to limit their movement to urgent or indispensable outings amid stringent lockdown measures implemented across the country since March 17.

At least 10,328 people have died in France.

For most people, the new coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough that clear up in two to three weeks.

For some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness, including pneumonia and death.

The vast majority of people recover.
