Another spell of bad weather threatens North Korea as Typhoon Maysak becomes the third round of heavy rain and wind to batter the Korean peninsula in the past month.

North Korea’s state TV showed widespread flooding in the eastern coastal cities of Wonsan and Tanchon, but the country didn’t immediately report any casualties.

Most of the images came from Kangwon Province, and South and North Hamgyong Provinces.

State television also showed a brief report from Pyongyang, with high water levels of the Taedong River that flows through the centre of the capital.
