Greta Thunberg on virus and climate on Earth Day

Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg said Wednesday the coronavirus and climate crises needed to be tackled at the same time, stressing environmental problems were "not slowing down even in times like these."

Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg said Wednesday the coronavirus and climate crises needed to be tackled at the same time, stressing environmental problems were "not slowing down even in times like these."

Thunberg and Professor Johan Rockstrom from the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research in Germany were holding a digital conversation about courage, solidarity and opportunities in times of crisis to make the 50 years since Earth Day was first observed.

Thunberg was speaking from the Nobel Museum in Stockholm and Professor Rockstrom was speaking from his office in Potsdam.
