Greta Thunberg's mural in Canada defaced within two days

A mural of climate activist Greta Thunberg in Canada has been defaced within two days of it being painted. Artist AJA Louden who painted the Mural told media

A mural of climate activist Greta Thunberg in Canda has been defaced within two days of it being painted. Street Artist AJA Louden told the media that he had painted a mural of the climate activist hours after she held a rally in a nearby area and two days later several parts of the mural have been sprayed. He said he hoped his piece would become a point of discussion however, it achieved that for different reasons. 

The mural’s artist told local media he had been inspired by Greta Thunberg’s speeches and wished to keep the conversation going with his artwork. He further said, he's not upset over the issue as anyone is allowed to express themselves there, and if someone is upset over what was done to the mural, they can paint it back.

'This is Oil country'

He further revealed that the wall that the piece was initially painted served as a 'free wall space' for ongoing art illustrations and different artists added illustrations over time. According to reports, the mural was vandalised by a man who sprayed the mural and wrote, 'This is oil country'.

Greta set to visit Vancouver

Greta Thunberg is expected to take part in a rally on Friday outside the Vancouver Art Gallery as part of her future campaigns. The 16-year-old protested in Edmonton, Canada outside the legislature recently, however, her rally was met with counter-protests by oil and gas supporters. 

The Swedish activist made headlines after she started missing school on Friday's and protested outside the Swedish Parliament to take action against Climate Change, met global leaders and urged them to take action against climate change. Greta also addressed the UN Climate Change convention where she gave a powerful speech and lashed out at Global leaders for their inaction to curb climate change around the globe.
