Heaviest 'Heist' : 23-metre and 56 tonne rail bridge gets 'stolen' in Russia, Twitter speculates Trump hand in play

PC Sorcar Jr. - the famous Indian magician's most renowned trick was when he 'vanished' the Wonder of the World - Taj Mahal. A similar anomaly seems to have happened in Russia when a huge stretch of rail-bridge mysteriously disappeared in the country’s Arctic region of Murmansk, as per local Russian media.

Since May 16, aerial photos of the debris of the fallen bridge had been circulating in Russian social networking sites. But in  photos taken just ten days later, the floating chunks are not to be seen.

Here is the video showing the aerial view of the bridge. The video opens with Umba river flowing and zooms into the bridge where a sizable portion is seen missing. The debris is nowhere in sight.

Many have been speculating whether it was a natural phenomenon that the chunks of the bridge floated down the river or sunk to the river bed or was stolen. According to local daily Znak, the 23-meter rail bridge containing 56 tonne of metal cost around 600,000 rubles.

Some theories had emerged initially that “Metalworkers likely pulled the structure into the water, where they slowly took it apart for scrap parts,” according to Moscow Times. Initially, residents had thought that the bridge owners may have dismantled the bridge, but later they believed it was stolen and submitted a statement to Kirovsk police.

Soon the prosecutor’s office of the city of Kirovsk recognised it as a legitimate and reasonable cause to investigate the matter.

“According to investigators in May 2019, an unidentified person secretly stole metal constructions of length out of mercenary motives,” said the police's official website.
