Israel Defense Forces celebrated the popular sitcom, Friends' 25th anniversary by posting a video in which the soldiers were seen enacting the famous theme song. The video was posted on September 23 with the modified title and called IDF.R.I.E.N.D.S which breaks down to Israel Defense Forces, friends. The soldiers also believe that there was no better way to celebrate the occasion. The 15-second clip has crossed more than 2 million views in less than 24 hours.
The recent post by the security forces of Israel did not go well with netizens, and they had some things to say. Most people connected the Israel Forces to the characters in the sitcom. The people of the internet saw this post as an opportunity to raise sensitive issues of violence, genocide, and war crimes that happen in Israel. Few netizens got creative with episode names that are possible in their view if really there was a friend based on Israel forces. Netizens even pointed out several Human Rights violations in the country. Here are some of them.

Another lesser-known fact is that there is a real non-political organization called the Friends of Israel Defense Forces (FIDF). The main mission of the non-military organization is to offer educational, cultural, recreational, and social services programs along with the facilities to provide hope and purpose. FIDF wants to provide life-changing support for the soldiers who really protect Israel and the community of Jews, worldwide. They entirely take care of the well-being of the soldiers and are also authorized to represent Israel Defense Forces across the United States and Panama.
