Italian citizens arrive back after quarantine on ship

Nineteen Italian citizens who were evacuated from the virus-stricken Diamond Princess cruise ship in Japan were repatriated to Italy on Saturday

Nineteen Italian citizens who were evacuated from the virus-stricken Diamond Princess cruise ship in Japan were repatriated to Italy on Saturday.The passengers, who had been quarantined on the ship since Feb. 5, arrived by a military plane at the Pratica di Mare air base, south of Rome, after a stopover in Berlin.

All of them tested negative for COVID-19, the illness caused by virus, during medical examinations in Japan, however, they will now undergo further tests in Italy.Upon arrival, the passengers were transferred to the military citadel of Cecchignola where they will be quarantined for 14 days.
