New Zealand's Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern cast her vote on Saturday for the country's upcoming General Election. Voting in the 2020 New Zealand General election is underway as of Saturday and political leaders were among the first to cast their ballots, including National party leader Judith Collins.

Millions of New Zealanders are expected to cast their vote prior to the general election day on October 17. Ardern and her partner Clarke Gayford were amongst the first to cast their ballot on Saturday morning.

A few extra precautions have been put in place due to the coronavirus pandemic including the installation of hand sanitizers and social distancing at a polling station. During the last election, nearly half of all voters cast their vote before election day.
