Tens of thousands of Jordanians demonstrated across Jordan on Friday against the White House plan aimed at ending the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

In the capital Amman, thousands gathered in downtown after Friday prayers, raising Jordanian and Palestinian flags and chanting anti-US and Israel slogans.

Protesters also set fire to an Israeli flag.

The protest was organised by the Muslim Brotherhood movement.

At the same time, hundreds staged a sit-in near the US embassy in Amman.

The two protests called on the Arab leaders to take a firm stance against US President Donald Trump's Mideast deal, saying that the plan was biased and in favor of Israel and will lead to more tension and conflicts in the region.

Jordan warned against any Israeli "annexation of Palestinian lands" and reaffirmed its commitment to the creation of a Palestinian state along the 1967 lines, which would include all the West Bank and Israeli-annexed east Jerusalem.
