Carrie Lam resumes council meetings after summer break

Carrie Lam, Hong Kong Chief Executive, met with the media before attending the Executive Council meeting which was resumed this week after the summer break.

Lam gave updates on Hong Kong's latest virus situation as well as upcoming measures that will be adopted by the government, including further funding for the coronavirus pandemic.

She said an outline of the plan would be announced as soon as possible.

Lam said Hong Kong 2020 second quarter GDP dropped 9% compared to the previous year and the government had lowered the forecast by -6% to -8% for the entire year.
