Protests in Lebanon continued on Thursday marking seventy-one day since the onset of nationwide demonstrations against the ruling elite.

Lebanese expats gathered outside the foreign ministry building and marched towards the parliament building in Beirut calling for a change in the political regime.

Meanwhile, another group organized a protest outside the Lebanese Banks' Association building.

The protesters called on the Lebanese civilians to stop paying their loans and taxes, and demanded a reschedule of payments.

Banks have clamped limits on withdrawals of US dollars as the Central Bank's sources for dollars were waning.

Protests exploded across the country on October 17 in response to a new round of proposed taxes and evolved into a revolt against the country's entire political elite.

The protesters blame politicians for decades of systematic corruption and mismanagement that brought the country into its dire economic straits.
