The Miss Universe Pageant is all set to take place in Bangkok, Thailand this year. While most contestants at this level are very professional and supportive of each other, it seems that some comments from a few contestants have not gone down well. Miss USA Sarah Rose Summers made some comments about the other girls from the pageant that has stirred up a huge controversy.

In a video that has surfaced on Instagram, Sarah can be seen in conversation with Miss Australia Francesca Hung and Miss Colombia Valeria Morales. The trio can be seen discussing about Miss Vietnam and Miss Cambodia. Speaking about the former, Sarah started off by saying that he is so beautiful, but pretends that she knows so much English. She went on to imitate her facial expressions as she called her 'adorable'.

As for Miss Cambodia, Sarah disclosed that she also doesn't speak any English and that she and Francesca are feeling isolated as there are very few at the pageant who do. As if the comments were not enough, she finished the little video with, ''Poor Cambodia''.

Needless, to say these comments have really offended people on the internet. A plethora of comments have since surfaced that slammed the girls for their thoughtless comments. While netizen called it 'racist', the other called them 'mean girls and bullies'. One user pointed out how this is a sign of microaggression and whether or not it came from a malicious place, one must be aware when they speak about other cultures. One even said that they should be careful as people often know multiple languages and may even be pretending. Take a look at some of the comments down below:

Meanwhile, it remains to be seen if the organisation that has put together the entire pageant has something to say or not and whether these models will apologise for the words that they used.
