PM Modi hails India's positive changes, says 'best time to be there'

During his three-day visit to Thailand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday attended the Suvarna Jayanti or Golden Jubilee of the Aditya Birla Group. Speaking at the event, the Prime Minister said that it was a truly special occasion. Sending a message to the world, PM Modi said that it is the best time to visit India.

"I am eager to give you a picture of some positive changes happening in India today. I say this with full confidence. This is the best time to be in India. Many things are rising while others are falling. Ease of doing business, ease of living, FDI, forest cover, patents, productivity, infrastructure are rising. While taxes, tax rates, red-tapism, corruption, cronyism are falling," PM said.

Huge jump in tourism

Emphasizing on the positive change in India, the PM said: "India's improved ranking in the World Economic Forum's travel and tourism competitiveness index. From 65 in 2013 we are ranked 34 in 2019. This jump is among the biggest. The number of foreign tourist arrivals has also gone up by 50%. All of you know, very well, that a tourist will not go to a place until he or she finds comfort, convenience and safety. Thus, we are getting more tourists, it means that our efforts on the grounds are bearing fruits."

Earlier on Saturday, the Prime Minister addressed the Indian diaspora at a community event called Sawasdee PM Modi. He also released a commemorative coin marking the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev & also released a Thai translation of Tamil classic 'Tirukkural'. "To address the Indian community at this event, I am in Thailand, among you all today. But I don't feel that I am in a foreign land. The ambiance, the attire, everything here makes me feel at home," PM Modi said.
