Pompeo meets Kurdish leader Barzani in Germany

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo met with Masrour Barzani, the prime minister of Iraq's northern Kurdish region, on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference Friday.

The face to face meeting comes increased tensions and mistrust between Washington and Iraq after an American strike killed a top Iranian general and an Iraqi militia commander.

Barzani is also expected to use the conference to warn of the continued danger from the Islamic State group and urge for increased inernational participation to fight the group.
