Portugal FM on meeting with French counterpart

Portuguese foreign minister Augusto Santos Silva welcomed his French counterpart Jean-Yves Le Drian to Lisbon on Tuesday for talks on the EU virus recovery fund, Brexit and the migrant crisis.

Portuguese foreign minister Augusto Santos Silva welcomed his French counterpart Jean-Yves Le Drian to Lisbon on Tuesday for talks on the EU virus recovery fund, Brexit and the migrant crisis.

Talks also focused on relations between the European Union, West Africa and Turkey.

Santos Silva hit out at Turkey's actions in the eastern Mediterranean, accusing it of "aggressive behaviour".

He added that Portugal and France were focused on better cooperation with western African countries to ensure maritime safety in the Gulf of Guinea.
