Seoul sports center disinfected amid virus fears

The disinfection of public facilities by South Korean authorities continued on Tuesday to contain the further spread of the new virus that has sickened thousands.

The disinfection of public facilities by South Korean authorities continued on Tuesday to contain the further spread of the new virus that has sickened thousands.

The Songpa District Sports and Culture Center in Seoul notified its members that the facility will be closed until March 31st, following the government's announcement that there have been confirmed cases in the area.

South Korea now has the second-most cases in the world with 977, including 10 deaths.

It  has had a near 15-fold increase in reported infections in a week, as health workers continue to find batches in the southeastern city of Daegu and nearby areas, where panic has brought towns to an eerie standstill
