Canada has taken the shape of a safe haven that harbours terrorists under the administration of Justin Trudeau, according to Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Ali Sabry. In a conversation with ANI on Monday, he expressed no astonishment over the recent comments made by the Canadian prime minister against India.
Branding the allegations surrounding the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar as "outrageous and substantiated," the minister revealed that he was "not surprised" by Trudeau's actions. “Some of the terrorists have found safe haven in Canada. The Canadian PM has this way of just coming out with some outrageous allegations without any supporting proof," he said, adding that the PM has made similar baseless claims against Sri Lanka in the past.
"The same thing they did for Sri Lanka, a terrible, total lie about saying that Sri Lanka had a genocide. Everybody knows there was no genocide in our country," he said, referring to the bizarre remarks made by Trudeau earlier this year. In May, the Canadian leader marked the 'Tamil Genocide Remembrance Day'.
He said that the ordeal of Tamil Canadians is an "enduring reminder that human rights, peace, and democracy cannot be taken for granted." Slamming this, Sri Lanka condemned his comments and said that it "vehemently rejects this unsubstantiated allegation of ‘genocide’ relating to the country’s almost 3 decades of terrorist conflict perpetuated by the LTTE."

Sri Lanka blasts Trudeau for honouring Nazi veteran
On Monday, Sabry also lashed out at Trudeau for honouring an erstwhile Nazi soldier in the Canadian Parliament.“I saw yesterday he had gone and given a rousing welcome to somebody who has associated with the Nazis in the past during the Second World War," the foreign minister said, adding that it was " questionable."
Offering a piece of advice to the Canadian PM, Sabry said that Ottawa must not meddle with the internal matters of sovereign nations. “I don't think anyone should poke their nose into other countries and tell as to how we should govern our country. We should not be dictated by anyone else as to how we should conduct our affairs”, he went on to say.
