Pakistan Railway has converted air-conditioned and sleeper coaches into isolation wards for patients suffering from the novel coronavirus.

The countrywide passenger train service remained suspended on Tuesday for an indefinite period.

In all, 220 coaches have been converted into mobile isolation wards.

Each coach has nine compartments, which means in one compartment nine wards are available.

The Covid-19 pandemic has resulted in a shortage of masks and sanitisers all across Pakistan.

Adil Ahmed's garment factory is now making masks, gloves and protecting sheets and selling them without profit to organisations making donations to hospitals and those in need.

Cases of coronavirus have jumped to 1870 across Pakistan.

Authorities confirmed one more death on Tuesday, taking the nationwide fatalities to 25.
