Russia and the United Arab Emirates are discussing the possible licensed production of the Russian Sputnik-V vaccine, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Monday, after meeting with his counterpart from the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

The foreign ministers also spoke about the situation in Libya.

Libya remains an important Arab country, and in cooperation with Russia, we are working on the situation to be stabilized there, Sheikh Abdullah told reporters.

Lavrov spoke of the causes of the destabilized situation in Libya, from the Russian point of view.

"Our colleagues from the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation actively armed extremists and terrorists (in Libya), aiming to bring down the regime of Muammar Gaddafi. And then the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation has committed aggression against the sovereign state and the United Nations member state, whose consequences we have to disentangle up to now," he said.
