Netizens in New Zealand were stumped after a bright fireball flew across the sky. The mysterious fireball has turned netizens into sleuths as some say it is a meteor and others claim it is Russian satellite .

Netizens in New Zealand were stumped after a bright fireball flew across the sky. 

The fireball appeared to many as a meteor and several who were able to capture it posted videos and photographs of the fireball.

But the theory put forth by the netizens that the fireball was a meteor was quickly dispelled by someone on Twitter.

Since Richard Easther's tweet saying that the fireball is possibly a space junk, a Russian military early warning satellite at that. Easther in his Twitter bio and tweets mentions that he is a rocket scientist.

But the mystery about the fireball has only deepened.

Easther's tweet has got major personalities from across professional spectrum into sleuths to find out about the mystery fireball.

In reply to this tweet, people have begun looking for the dump site in New Zeland's oceans.
