The World Health Organisation said on Tuesday that the global risk of the new deadly virus was "high" but insisted the infection was only an "emergency in China." In a news conference in Geneva on Tuesday, Christian Lindmeier said the coronavirus outbreak hadn't reached a "very high" assessment risk globally as it was "not widely spreading outside of China."

Lindmeier also told journalists that the infection wasn't a "public health emergency of international health concern" as it hadn't met "three essential criteria" set by the organisation. He also announced that there have been 4,428 confirmed cases of the infection in China, including 106 deaths. There were 45 other confirmed cases in 13 countries outside of China, Lindmeier said.
