Winner at the whistle gives 2021 Japanese Super Cup title to Kawasaki Frontale

Substitute Yu Kobayashi scored the match winner with less than a minute remaining in stoppage time as defending Japanese J.League champions Kawasaki Frontale defeated Emperors Cup holders Gamba Osaka 3-2 to win the 2021 Japanese Super Cup on Saturday in Saitama.

The 2021 Japanese J.League J1 season starts this Friday with Kawasaki Frontale kicking off its title defence against the 2019 champion Yokohama F Marinos.
