Poland’s prime minister Mateusz Morawiecki said on Wednesday his country will take steps to end Russian oil imports by the end of 2022. He told a news conference that Poland was launching the most radical plan among European nations to wean off Russian energy sources.

He said that Poland had already largely reduced its dependence on Russian oil. Morawiecki said Russian President Vladimir Putin used gas and oil as a tool of blackmail. Poland is arguing that money from oil and gas exports are fueling Russia’s war efforts and that this should stop.
