Schools in Israel began reopening Thursday after more than six-weeks of being shut down due to the country's coronavirus restrictions.
Kindergartens and lower elementary school classes opened in cities with low infection rates, returning around one-fifth of the country's pupils to school.
Middle schools and high schools remained closed.
Israel's health ministry has recorded over 706,000 cases of the coronavirus and 5,233 deaths.
