Shooting outside Mississippi hospital leaves 2 dead

A shooting broke out Wednesday in a parking lot outside a hospital in Mississippi, leaving three people dead, including the suspect, news outlets reported.

The gunfirebroke outabout 6:30 a.m. on the campus of Baptist Medical Center near downtown Jackson, police said.

Two people died at the scene, and WAPT-TV reportedthat a person suspected of being the shooterwas founddead in a cemetery in nearby Pearl with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

A statement issued by Baptist Medical Center said the hospital was safe and police were investigating. Officers cordoned off an area of the parking lot near a dark-colored sedan where witnesses saidshots were fired.
