For many, adapting to change is not an easy task, facing the current pandemic and relating to others can be more difficult when hearing or visual limitations are an obstacle.

Venezuelan Jose Muñoz, a visually impaired radio host, courageously faces this particularly challenging time.

Since Venezuela began its quarantine on March 17, Muñoz could no longer go to the government station "Radio Nacional de Venezuela" where he worked, so now he has reinvented himself by selling merchandise to make a living from home.

With the help of a sound dictation system app, Muñoz sends text messages offering products for sale to his neighbours.

His sister, Luisa Cristina Delgado helps him organising and posting the products on Jose Luis' Facebook page.

They sell face masks, perfumes, fans, and among other products.

Muñoz also provides information on where to get scarce medicines and guides people through administrative procedures using his radio amateur communication system.

During these isolation days, the radio conversations with his colleagues keep him going.

He was diagnosed with glaucoma and became blind at the age of 3.

The disease, characterised by increased intraocular pressure, took away his sight, but not his desire to improve himself and help others.
