Former President Mauricio Macri said the political force he leads will return to power in 2023 during the presentation of his memoir "First half"  Thursday at an exhibition in Buenos Aires, in which was his first public act since he left power. The former president reflected on his administration, the present and the political future of the South American country.

Leaders and militants of the main opposition force to the Peronist government of Alberto Fernández Together for the Change Party attended the event. Macri, the first non-Peronist president to end his term since the return of democracy in 1983, did not clarify whether he will run as a presidential candidate in two years.

Businessman and former president of the popular Boca Juniors soccer club Macri came to power in 2015 after 12 years of Kirchner government, a center-left current within Peronism led by Néstor Kirchner and Cristina Fernández de Kirchner.

The conservative Macri promised to carry out profound reforms and reactivate the economy, but ended up aggravating the economic and social crisis. The disappointment of many who had voted for him ended burying his re-election project and opened the door for him to return to Kirchnerism, with Cristina Fernández de Kirchner herself as vice president.
