Washington: US President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on Tuesday held high stakes talks on the Ukraine war and decided to immediately start the peace talks in the middle east. The White House said that the talks between the two heads went very well as both the leaders agreed on 30-day ceasefire on energy and infrastructure establishments. Russian President Vladimir Putin told Trump that US and its allies must stop all the military and intelligence aid to Kyiv.
After talks with Putin, Trump posted on Truth Social saying, “My phone conversation today with President Putin of Russia was a very good and productive one. We agreed to an immediate ceasefire on all energy and infrastructure, with an understanding that we will be working quickly to have a complete ceasefire and, ultimately, an END to this very horrible War between Russia and Ukraine."
“This war would have never started if I were President! Many elements of a contract for peace were discussed, including the fact that thousands of soldiers are being killed, and both President Putin and President Zelenskyy would like to see it end. That process is now in full force and effect, and we will, hopefully, for the sake of Humanity, get the job done!”

White House Statement on Donald Trump-Vladimir Putin Phone Call On Ukraine
Today, President Trump and President Putin spoke about the need for peace and a ceasefire in the Ukraine war. Both leaders agreed this conflict needs to end with a lasting peace. They also stressed the need for improved bilateral relations between the United States and Russia. The blood and treasure that both Ukraine and Russia have been spending in this war would be better spent on the needs of their people.
This conflict should never have started and should have been ended long ago with sincere and good faith peace efforts. The leaders agreed that the movement to peace will begin with an energy and infrastructure ceasefire, as well as technical negotiations on implementation of a maritime ceasefire in the Black Sea, full ceasefire and permanent peace. These negotiations will begin immediately in the Middle East.
The leaders spoke broadly about the Middle East as a region of potential cooperation to prevent future conflicts. They further discussed the need to stop proliferation of strategic weapons and will engage with others to ensure the broadest possible application. The two leaders shared the view that Iran should never be in a position to destroy Israel.
The two leaders agreed that a future with an improved bilateral relationship between the United States and Russia has huge upside. This includes enormous economic deals and geopolitical stability when peace has been achieved.
Kremlin has informed that during the phone call, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump continued their detailed and frank exchange of opinions on the situation around Ukraine.
Putin reacted constructively to Trump's idea of implementing an initiative on the safety of navigation in the Black Sea, Kremlin said.
Putin and Trump expressed mutual interest in normalising relations in light of their special responsibility for ensuring security in the world.
During the talks, Putin reaffirmed his fundamental commitment to a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine in talks with Trump.
The United States administration is expected to brief media on the high stakes phone call between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, which lasted for more than 2 hours.
After Trump-Putin talks, which lasted for more than 2 hours, Russian President's special envoy on international economic and investment cooperation, Kirill Dmitriev said that under the leadership of President Putin and President Trump, the world has become a much safer place today.
However, so far there is no official details regarding what the two leaders discussed during the phone call.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, during Raisina Dialogue in New Delhi, said that his country will not compromise on any territorial losses if at all any agreement is reached between Trump and Putin. Sybiha mentioned that Ukraine just wants a long lasting peace but won't approve Russian conditions.
India's External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, who was also part of the dialogue, appreciated Ukrainian counterpart's assessment of peace negotiations.
As Trump and Putin are discussing the Ukraine war, Volodymyr Zelenskyy is on an official visit to Kyiv's principal ally partner Finland.
Zelenskyy will hold meetings with President Alexander Stubb and First Lady Suzanne Innes-Stubb, Speaker Jussi Halla-aho and members of Parliament, Prime Minister Petteri Orpo, government officials, and representatives of defense companies.
Key areas of discussions will include defense support, investment in Ukrainian weapons production, and Ukraine's European integration, the Finnish expertise in developing a civil defense system and constructing shelters, strengthening sanctions against Russia, and coordinating efforts to bring the war to a just end.
Europe must be at the negotiating table, and everything related to Europe's security should be decided together with Europe, Zelenskyy said ahead of his key talks with Finland administration.
