Charles names Katy Perry as new amb of British Asian Trust

Perry, who joined Charles and his wife Camilla at a reception and dinner in London, said she was fascinated by the work of the Trust.She also said she was a big fan of the Prince. "He asked me if I could sing to his plants," she joked.

Britain's Prince Charles on Tuesday named American pop star Katy Perry as a new ambassador for one of his charities, the British Asian Trust.Perry will help promote one of the Trust's key projects, the Children's Protection Fund for India.

Perry, who joined Charles and his wife Camilla at a reception and dinner in London, said she was fascinated by the work of the Trust.She also said she was a big fan of the Prince. "He asked me if I could sing to his plants," she joked.

Charles said he was delighted that Perry had agreed to become an ambassador for the Trust.He said the British Asian Trust, along with billionaire Sir Chris Hohn and the Children's Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), aims to develop the largest fund in South Asia to combat the trafficking of children.
