Johnson on extending restrictions, schools return

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Wednesday announced delays to school reopenings for some students after the Christmas break, as health services struggle to manage surging coronavirus hospitalizations.

He also urged people to "see in the new year safely at home," as more areas move into the highest level of restrictions.

This came after British regulators authorized Oxford University and drugmaker AstraZeneca's easy-to-handle coronavirus vaccine earlier Wednesday.
