Mark Acklom, the conman who posed as MI6 spy to be jailed once again

The serial English conman Mark Acklom after completing his current prison term will face one more term in jail. He is currently finishing his sentence in UK.

The serial English conman Mark Acklom after completing his current prison term will face one more term in jail. He is currently finishing his sentence in an England prison and after he completes it, he will be handed over to the Spanish authorities to complete his sentence. The 46-year-old con artist was jailed in Cartagena in the year 2015 for fooling two Spanish brothers. He conned them into buying riverside flats in London by pretending to be the owner of the houses.

To be handed over to Spain again

Earlier he was released for some time as he applied for a pardon after he served the prison term for a year. The fraudster was forced to give away his passport and the Spanish court ordered him to report two times in a month. The lawyer of his victim brother spoke to a news agency saying that they opposed his release before as they were sure that he will run away and that is what happened in reality. The lawyer added that the Spanish officials will get hold of him after he completes his UK prison sentence. After he fleed, he was tracked in Switzerland last year and was extradited to England this year in February.

Was also jailed for conning after posing as an MI6 agent

In August 2019, Mark Acklom was jailed at the Bristol Crown Court as he admitted conning a woman Carolyn Woods. He took £300,000 from her after acting as a rich Swiss-based banker and the MI6 agent. He was living with his family in a mansion nearby that he rented with the money he got from the lady he fooled. He got arrested in Zurich on June 30th 2018. Acklom has a lot of cases registered against his name in various areas. He is also on the list of UK's National Crime Agency's list of 10 most wanted fugitives. In his personal life, he is married to Maria Yolanda Ros Rodriques and has two daughters. Acklom's wife Maria is also being investigated by the UK authorities for money-laundering cases and fraud. The cops on September 23, are expected to tell the court on the progress they have made to know the amount of money, the conman made in his entire career of fraudulence.
