The Duke of Sussex attended the WellChild awards on October 15 and got emotional as he opened up about how the Royal couple kept the Duchess' pregnancy a secret last year while they attended the award ceremony. Prince Harry claimed that because the event celebrates the children with severe illness, it never fails to inspire him. He further explained that becoming a father has brought new meaning to the WellChild Awards.

He recalled his feelings of the time when the Duchess of Sussex was pregnant and how the Royal couple were contemplating on how they would feel if their child became ill. He stated, "I remember squeezing Meghan's hand so tight during the awards, both of us thinking what it would be like to be parents one day. And more so, what it would be like to do everything we could to protect and help our child should they be born with immediate challenges or become unwell over time."

“And now, as parents, being here and speaking to all of you pulls at my heartstrings in a way I could have never understood until I had a child of my own,” the Royal added.
