Scotland's first minister on Wednesday announced that national lockdown restrictions would be tightened further to curb the spread of the coronavirus and warned people against "complacency".

Speaking in parliament, Nicola Sturgeon announced a halt to click-and-collect services, a ban on the consumption of alcohol outdoors and on the public going inside a business to collect takeaways, and the strengthening of laws requiring employers to allow staff to work from home.

Sturgeon also paid her condolences to the family of Glasgow's Catholic archbishop, Philip Tartaglia, who died after falling ill with COVID-19.
