UK care homes are again at risk of being overwhelmed by COVID-19, as Britain battles a major surge in cases.
Tracy Hobson, a clinical lead nurse at Northfield Nursing Home in Sheffield spoke to British broadcaster Sky News and likened her experience to "Groundhog Day".
"Every time you get a discharge, you'll always get another patient coming after", she said.
Eva Koffi, a third-year medical student and part-time carer, told Sky that the situation can drastically change from week to week.
She recalled having a shift one weekend which was "completely fine".
"The next week I come back, every single name on the board had a little sticker next to it saying they had COVID", she continued.
"I literally was terrified."
On Friday, Britain authorised a coronavirus vaccine made by Moderna, making it the third to be licensed for use in the country.
The UK has so far inoculated about 1.5 million people with the Pfizer-BioNTech and Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccines.
The British government has said it is aiming to vaccinate all elderly care home residents by the end of January.
