Lockdown restrictions in Scotland will start to be eased from May 28, the Scottish First Minister told Parliament on Thursday, but would be phased to avoid a resurgence of COVID-19 infections.
Nicola Sturgeon said the government would move carefully and match the steps taken with rigorous, ongoing monitoring of the virus.
"For all our progress, this virus has not gone away," Sturgeon said. "If we move too quickly or without proper care, it could run out control again very quickly and the danger of a second wave later in the year is very real indeed."
