Vaccine data allows easing of lockdown:UK Minister

Coronavirus vaccines are having a significant effect on lowering hospital admissions and deaths in the UK, vaccines minister Nadhim Zahawi confirmed Monday.

He was speaking as prime minister Boris Johnson prepared to unveil official data on the effectiveness of the vaccination campaign.

"Suffice to say the evidence looks good," Zahawi told British broadcaster Sky News.

He said the planned reopening of schools next month, and the easing of social restrictions, signified that the vaccine programme was starting to "bear fruit".
