The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have taken part in a video call with members of the British public to promote the benefits of getting the COVID-19 vaccine.

The royal couple used the call to try and encourage more people to get the jab.

They spoke on a video call with families who admitted to being nervous about receiving the vaccine after reading misinformation online.

39-year-old Shivali Modha and her husband Hiren spoke to the couple, along with their children 11-year-old Shyaama and nine-year-old Jyoti.

The couple also spoke to 37-year-old Fiona Doyle and her daughter Ciara, who is seven.

Prince William has echoed his grandmother, Britain's Queen Elizabeth, in speaking out publicly about the vaccine.

The Queen has directly appealed to the British public to get vaccinated, highlighting the importance of "thinking of others."

The Duke has warned of the dangers of being influenced by unverified information that is being peddled online about the vaccine.
