The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge met some children of NHS (National Health Service) staff and key workers during a virtual school visit on Wednesday, praising their parents for doing an "amazing job".

Via a video call, William and Catherine spoke for an hour to pupils and teachers from a Burnley primary school to learn how they are dealing with the coronavirus pandemic.

The Casterton Primary Academy is close to Burnley General Hospital and has remained open to support the children of key workers.

The pupils showed the Royals the drawings they made which portray their parents.

For most people, the new coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough, that clear up in two to three weeks.

For some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness, including pneumonia, and could lead to death.
