Trump Confirms ‘Very Good’ One-Hour Call With Zelenskyy, Says Ukraine-Russia Talks ‘On Track’
After the call, Trump took to TruthSocial and said that he had a "very good" phone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The call, which lasted approximately an hour, focused on aligning Ukraine and Russia’s respective requests and needs following Trump’s earlier discussion with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“We are very much on track,” Trump stated, adding that Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor Michael Waltz would soon release an official statement detailing key points from the conversation. The statement is expected to provide further insights into the ongoing diplomatic efforts for a potential ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia.

Trump, Putin Agree to Pause Strikes on Ukraine’s Energy Infrastructure, But Wider Ceasefire Uncertain
Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin reached an agreement during an extended phone call on Tuesday to impose an immediate halt to strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. However, Putin did not commit to the broader 30-day ceasefire that the U.S. has been advocating for.

The White House characterised the agreement as the initial step in a “movement to peace,” expressing hopes that it would pave the way for a maritime ceasefire in the Black Sea and ultimately lead to a lasting resolution to the conflict. Despite this, there was no sign that Putin had shifted from his preconditions for a peace deal—terms that Kyiv firmly rejects. Shortly after the call, air raid sirens blared in Kyiv, followed by explosions, prompting local authorities to urge residents to take cover.
According to the Kremlin, Putin reiterated his demand that all foreign military and intelligence support for Ukraine be withdrawn. However, Trump denied that the issue was even discussed. “We didn’t talk about aid," Trump told Fox News on Tuesday. “We didn’t talk about aid at all.”
