Jaishankar stated that India has explained to Ukraine the energy market scenario.
Ukraine had earlier criticized India for purchasing Russian oil. Purchase of Russian oil is crucial for India, to ensure the energy demand of the nation's populace is met.
According to the External Affairs Minister, four agreements on drug control, cultural exchange, and agriculture have also been signed. PM Modi's visit come at a crucial time for the war. Ukraine has successfully advanced into Russian territory (Kursk). Meanwhile, Russia continues to make gains in Eastern Ukraine, although at a steady pace.
During his time in Kyiv, Modi and Zelenskyy will discuss various aspects of bilateral relations, with an emphasis on enhancing cooperation amidst the geopolitical turmoil.
