US Health Secretary Azar visits mask factory in Taiwan

U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar visited a mask factory in Taipei on Wednesday, to further congratulate the country on its work in global assistance while fighting the new coronavirus.

U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar visited a mask factory in Taipei on Wednesday, to further congratulate the country on its work in global assistance while fighting the new coronavirus. Azar and other officials donned masks and had their temperatures before entering the factory to observe masks and protective gear  being made.

Azar said the U.S. was proud to have Taiwan as a third-largest trading partner on a per capita basis, after Canada and Mexico. He also congratulated Taiwan on it's respect for innovation and intellectual property.z Azar is the highest-level American official to visit the island in four decades. The trip by Azar comes against the backdrop of a sharp downturn in relations between China and the U.S.
