A valedictorian of her class with 4.1 GPA, Jakelia has finally signed on to Penn State University on a volleyball scholarship. Boasting an impressive resume, Jakelia has been a student ambassador, president of the Student council and National Honor Society along with being part of the choir, marching band, math team and Advanced Placement classes.
Her volleyball scholarship is attributed to her athletic skills as she played an array of sports in schools - basketball, golf, tennis, soccer along with being the captain of the volleyball team.

She claims she managed to do it all simultaneously because of the strict discipline her mother followed and has chosen Penn State because it felt like a second home to her.
