6 Houston hospitals receive coronavirus vaccine

Memorial Hermann in Texas Medical Center, Houston delivered its first vaccine dose to a nurse named Robert Luckey, who works in the hospital's COVID-19 ICU

On the second day of Pfizer coronavirus vaccine deliveries through the US, six Houston hospitals received the frozen allotments to much fan fare.

Memorial Hermann in Texas Medical Center, Houston delivered its first vaccine dose to a nurse named Robert Luckey, who works in the hospital's COVID-19 ICU.

After the nurse got his shot, the crowd of witnesses inside the hospital cheered.

"It's a big moment, the fact that so many people have been touched by the virus,  the disease," said Luckey, adding "I think this will be hope for a lot of people."

In Houston, Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center, Texas Children's Hospital, LBJ Hospital, Houston Methodist, CHI St. Luke's Health and Ben Taub General Hospital.

142 hospitals throughout Texas are expected to receive Pfizer vaccine deliveries.
