Artists install pink seesaws on US-Mexico Border wall for children on both sides to play together

As the US-Mexico Border wall has been setting the grim political narrative of the Donald Trump administration, in contrary to that, two artists installed fluorescent pink seesaws to play on, across the grey rods of the wall that separates the two countries.

As the US-Mexico Border wall has been setting the grim political narrative of the Donald Trump administration, in a contrasting depiction, two artists installed fluorescent pink seesaws to play on, across the grey rods of the wall that separates the two countries.

A playful concept and what maybe deciphered as artivism to overpower the discourse of division, the bright pink seesaws were quick to add color to the dull grey metal wall and instantly saw both- children and adults spiritedly playing with each other from across the borders.

The architectural studio Rael San Fratello installed three seesaws over the weekend at a small stretch of land between El Paso in Texas and Ciudad Juárez in Mexico. The installation fleetingly contrasted with the political reality of the immigration discourse, and painted a momentary utopian picture of harmony between the two nations.

The founder of Rael San Fratello, Ronald Rael along with architect Virginia San Featello posted the videos and images on social media on Tuesday of the “Teetertotter Wall.”

Rael said, "The wall became a literal fulcrum for U.S. - Mexico relations and children and adults were connected in meaningful ways on both sides with the recognition that the actions that take place on one side have a direct consequence on the other side."

The installation comes at the time when Donald Trump has been fear mongering on immigrants and aggresively vowed to cut back on immigration.
