Democratic Presidential Candidate Pete Buttigieg is encouraging voters in Nevada to visualize the day they get US President Donald Trump out of office.

"The deeper reason I ask you to visualize that day isn't about politics," said Buttigieg.

"It isn't about just the need for us to win, but what America is going to need on that day, because that's going to be a challenging day in our country. It's not like our problems end on that day. That's when our work begins."

Buttigieg's comments came during his first of three campaign stops in Nevada before he heads to a final town hall for the day in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The former mayor was also asked if he does get Trump out of office, how will he make him leave.

"Going to be pretty awkward when Chasten and I are moving in our furniture. I mean, if he won't leave, I guess if he's willing to do chores, we could work something out," said Buttigieg jokingly.

"I think we want to set a goal of winning big enough that this election is way beyond cheating distance. And that Trumpism goes into the history books, too. It's got to be a win so big that Senate Republicans are reunited with their consciences and only a political shockwave can do that. And that's part of our focus."

The Democratic Primary is being held Saturday in Nevada.

Buttigieg is one of the top Democratic candidates having a successful turnout with voters in New Hampshire and Iowa.
