Emergency crews battle wildfires in Washington County

Thousands of people were without power as crews battled large fires Tuesday in Washington County, north of Portland.

Evacuation orders were issued throughout the day.

Aerial video showed several homes or structures on fire.

During the last two weeks, there have been 3,000 firefighters on the ground fighting blazes in Oregon.

As winds shift and slow Thursday, authorities said they hope to take a more “offensive approach” and assess damage.
