U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris met with Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong Tuesday and touted progress afterward on talks about cybersecurity, supply chains, climate change and cooperation in space.

Harris also pointed to the shared concern both countries have toward Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

"I know that we share this concern about upholding the importance of sovereignty and territorial integrity," Harris said.

Biden’s national security team has been pleased that Singapore and other Pacific partners - Australia, Japan, New Zealand and South Korea - moved relatively quickly to hit Russia with sanctions following the invasion.

Vice President Kamala Harris visited Singapore in August and announced agreements involving a number of these bilateral issues.

Biden was scheduled to host several national leaders from ASEAN this week, but the summit was postponed.

Biden said he still planned to host the ASEAN summit this spring.
