Hospital to be built inside NY tennis center

Part of the tennis center that hosts the U.S. Open will be transformed into a makeshift hospital to treat patients infected with the coronavirus, an executive from the facility said.

Daniel Zausner, Chief Operating Officer of the USTA National Tennis Center in Queens says his organization volunteered space for 350 hospital beds.

New York City officials were seen touring the facility.

Zausner says construction will likely begin on Wednesday.
