Acutely dramatic and reality TV-like was the recent Oval House meeting between Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi and US President Donald Trump about border security at the US-Mexico border.

In a classic episode on Tuesday in Washington, a meeting in the presence of media aggressively escalated after Trump asking for funds worth $5 billion to build the border wall, was refused. To this rejection, Donald Trump even threatened to "shut down the government."

"I will be the one to shut down," said Trump as Vice President of United States, Mike Pence watched in silence. "I am proud to shut down the government for border security," he added.

When Pelosi objected about the presence of media during the spat, Trump called it "transparency"

Conversing with Schumer about the wall, US President Trump said, "And I am proud ... I tell you what, I am proud to shut down the government for border security, Chuck because the people of this country don't want criminals and people that have lots of problems and drugs pouring into our country. So, I will take the mantle. I will be the one to shut it down. I'm not going to blame you for it. The last time you shut it down it didn't work. I will take the mantle of shutting down and I'm going to shut it down for border security."

He even tweeted about it earlier on December 11, before the meeting-

Controversies favourite child, US President Trump has often sparked social media with his words and actions-
